4. Graphic Design (GDS120 / 5 Week)

I plugged into this design, because I had ever seen a similar design last semester.
First, this design shows empasis by contrast in color and direction. Generally, in design principle, empahasis provides the focal point. For example, in this design, two contrasts are shown, One is a contrast between moving letters on the horizon and a still book on the diagonal. The other is a contrast between the black letters and the white book. When I saw this design, my attention was a white book. About the reason, I think that these contrasts in color and direction arrested our eyes.
Second, the design also shows rhythm in desing principle. For example, repetition of the letters with various shapes and abrupt changing makes the staccato rhythm. I think that rhythm makes freshness and freedom of some works.
Third, Idea of the design is creative. The idea, which is rushing out of the book, is so interesting and so cool. I think that creative idea draws attention.
Finally, nagative space and pasitive space are in harmony. The edges of all letters show interesting nagative space. If I were a graphic designer of the work, I would change a black letter on the book to a red letter. Anyway, because of four things, I selected this work. I really like it.
